Getting Here
By Road:
Kyuquot is a 30 minute boat ride from the nearest unpaved road on Vancouver Island. Ferries to Vancouver Island B.C. run frequently from the mainland at Tsawassen and Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo.
From Nanaimo you drive north on highway 19 to kilometer marker 320 and turn off to the left at the road marked Zeballos/Fair Harbour. (Approx. 15 minutes past Woss Camp turn off.) You now proceed on an unpaved logging road and keep following the signs to Fair Harbour.
You can stop in the village of Zeballos half way to Fair Harbour and call your water taxi to alert him to meet you in Fair Harbour within the hour. There are no public phones or cell phone service in Fair Harbour so you must phone ahead from either Zeballos, Woss or Campbell River to confirm water taxi pick up time.
Water taxis should be arranged 7-10 days in advance. Prices run from $90.00 up to $220.00 one way depending on number of people/amount of gear/boat size needed. Here is a list of local water taxis:
Leo Jack at Voyager Water Taxi at (250)-332-5301. ( various vessels, including a large kayak carrying vessel)
Archie/Virginia Vincent (250) 332-5237
